After touring properties this week, I have decided that my favorite home was the listing located at 378 Lowell Avenue in Mill Valley – Tam Valley to be more specific. It was simply a magical property. I would love to return at night to see the thoughtful lighting which has been placed within the exterior hardscaping. Maybe the presence of the large Buddha on the home’s hillside spoke to my need for peace and calm, or possibly it was the hammered copper details placed throughout the home which each of the past three homeowner’s added additional pieces to continue the tradition. Possibly, the homeowner’s sense of style and individual Feng Shui worked well for me!
This home is located off Shoreline, up the hill of Pine Street and right on Lowell Ave. As you meander over Lowell Avenue itself, you don’t realize how close you are to active life, as you feel whisked away into a country setting. The narrow street opens wide once you cross through the gates of the home onto an open drive way and large landscaped garden. There are many fruit trees, beautiful flowers blooming, and it even looked as though there were grapevines (although, I am not a horticulturalist – but rather a wine enthusiast)!
The mid-century modern design is well thought out and the architect that recommended features to the front exterior did a fabulous job. The interior flows wonderfully, and the rooms are spacious, with clean lines and plenty of openness, while still allowing privacy. There are serene views and warm light from each window in the home. This is one of those homes that must be experienced – seeing the photographs won’t quite capture the full essence of the home. All in all, it was my “best of show” this week; my favorite home on tour. We'd be happy to set up a private showing with the listing agent and sellers for you. It's definitely worth the look.
