Scott presents paint color

Last night I attended a presentation by Scott Silvera in his Oakland store, SCOUT.  His talk, Scout's Foolproof Exterior Color Schemes was fun and informative and a great plug for their no-VOC paint line, Mythic.  Scott has an amazing ability to pick paint colors that look great together.  He gave great tips and offerred color schemes for all sorts of houses (mostly East Bay architecture--Shingled Bungalows, Bungalows with Stucco, Mediterranean, and Queen Anne Victorians).  The staff is also very helpful and well versed in the paint and how the quality and price relates to other brands.  The cupcakes and champagne were delicious, too.

I wrote about low and no-VOC paints a few years ago in Mermeltown Neighborhood News.  They are healthier for you, much better for the environment and the way to go if you are painting inside or out.  If you are living in your home, it is important to paint with materials that aren't emitting hazardous chemicals.  If you are selling your home, same thing goes.  It adds to the buyers experience when they walk into a freshly painted, staged home and they can see how beautiful it is, not how it smells.

Check out his store for great accessories, products for your home (besides the Mythic paint, they carry Caldrea cleaning and bath products, lighting and hardware).
