Swim for the Bay!

151 Baykeeper Swim that wasn't

The San Francisco Bay is one of the things that makes the Bay area awesome, and well, makes the Bay Area what it is! I love being in the Bay as a swimmer (several times a week, rain or shine, all year round), on the water in a boat and near the water--the views are spectacular.

I can't imagine what it would be like to live in San Francisco if our Bay wasn't so vibrant and healthy.

Baykeeper has been doing amazing work as an advocate and steward for clean water in the Bay. I have participated in several Baykeeper fundraisers as a swimmer, a pilot and a contributor. I hope you'll learn about the swim and Baykeeper and support their efforts. The Parade starts at the Golden Gate Bridge and ends at AT&T Park, in time for the start of the Giants Game. The parade is shown on the Jumbotron, and it was fun to be walking by attendees entering the park in a bathing suit. I asked for an extra ticket and got one.

The picture above is from a Baykeeper swim several years ago that was cancelled because of the fog. Despite the disappointment, every day in, on and around the Bay is an amazing day.  More info: Swim for the Bay!
